Meet Shaun & Rachael
We’re not polished. We’re real.
Hope & Grit was born from everything we’ve lived through—addiction, burnout, emotional eating, grief, shame—and the uphill climb toward healing.
Between the two of us, we’ve lost weight, found recovery, learned how to set boundaries, started over—more than once—and built lives that finally feel like ours.
We know what it’s like to feel stuck. To pretend you're fine. To white-knuckle through the day. And we also know what it’s like to feel your energy come back… to feel proud of your choices… to walk outside and actually breathe again.
We’re not here to fix you. We’re here to walk with you—because no one should have to do this alone.

Meet Kristin
When Kristin started her health journey, she wasn’t looking for a quick fix. She was looking for peace.
Years of stress, grief, and survival mode had taken a toll—and like so many of us, she had tried to cope in the ways she knew how: food, wine, shutting down. But deep down, she knew she was made for more.
She took one small step. Then another.
Now, Kristin is walking in freedom. She’s reclaiming her health, her joy, and her confidence. And while her story is still unfolding, it’s already a powerful reminder:
It’s never too late to take your power back.

Saturday, September 27th at Coffee Oasis Tacoma Cafe
This Saturday, we're gathering at Coffee Oasis Tacoma Café—a local gem that serves more than just great coffee. This mission-driven café helps support youth in crisis through job training, mentorship, and outreach programs right here in our community.
Whether you're coming to connect, reflect, or just enjoy a hot cup in good company, you’re welcome at the table. We’ll be there around 10 AM—come as you are, bring a friend, and let’s fill our cups together.
Punk Walk & Roll 5K – 2025 Recap
On September 6, we gathered at Vassault Park with 37 walkers, gallons of coffee, and a whole lot of heart — and together we raised $1,005 for the Tacoma Recovery Center.
This first “FAIL Edition” (First Attempt In Learning) was scrappy and imperfect — and it was exactly what we needed to take the first step toward our bigger vision: making treatment and wraparound recovery supports more accessible here in Tacoma.
September is National Recovery Month, and this event was our way to:
