Mattering is the feeling that we are valued — and that we have value to add to the world. Science tells us it's not a nice-to-have. It's a developmental and human necessity, from infancy through adulthood.

And yet, in early learning — a profession built entirely on nurturing that sense in children — we rarely stop to ask: do the people doing this work feel like they matter too?

This is an evening to answer that question together.

Join early learning professionals from Pierce County for a gathering in nature, around the campfire, in community. Come to connect with colleagues, explore what mattering means for the children we serve and for ourselves, and lean into the value you bring to this profession every single day.
